Balance of mind body and spirit
What is it to be ‘in good health’?
Does it merely mean the absence of disease and pain, or is it more?
Let’s look at the word ‘disease’. What if I spelled it like this: ‘dis-ease’? Now it takes on a slightly different meaning. When I am in a state of ‘dis-ease’, I’m not sick. I just don’t feel well.
I believe many of us feel ‘dis-ease’, and when ‘dis-ease’ becomes chronic, it can become disease.
So perhaps, good health can be defined as the absence of ‘dis-ease’.
With other words, good health is the perfect balance of mind, body, and spirit.
How do we achieve this balance?
We must nurture our mind, body, and spirit equally.
To nurture the mind, keep learning.
To nurture the body, eat and sleep well, breathe deeply, and take daily walks in the sun.
To nurture the spirit, think positive thoughts, spend less time on Facebook and book more face time with friends and family, laugh lots, listen to or play music, look at art or be an artist, spend time in nature, meditate, and practice the attitude of gratitude.
If you have turned ‘dis-ease’ into good health, I would love to hear from you.
I wish you all perfect balance of mind, body, and spirit in your life.
